Nigel Stanislaus was born and raised in Singapore with an education that spanned between Sydney, Melbourne and New York City, completing degrees in both Fashion and Graphic Design. His unique duo discipline comprising knowledge of fashion history and the technical precision of graphic design allowed Nigel’s creativity to move seamlessly into the world of makeup.
His works can be seen in editorials such as Harpers Bazaar, L’Officiel, Elle, Marie Claire, GQ, and Esquire among many others. His list of celebrities include Ruby Rose, Coco Rocha, Suki Waterhouse, John Legend, Erin Wasson, Bryan Adams, Ronan Keating, Michael Bublé, Agyness Deynn, Patricia Field, Kelly Osborne and Scary Spice - Melanie Brown.
Nigel has been a part of international TV shows like Project Runway, X-Factor, Make Me A Supermodel, Australia’s Next Top Model and has recently returned to creatively direct and judge for Asia’s Next Top Model alongside fellow Judges Patricia Field and famed photographer YuTsai.
Nigel is revered as one of Australia’s leading and influential makeup artists and thus has been invited to keynote speak at all major beauty events and seminars.
In the fashion industry, Nigel has directed more than 150 shows backed by his 50-strong makeup team. He also secured the deal to be Maybelline’s first contracted Make Up Director and represents his country in NYFW. Nigel has been involved with designers like Toni Maticevski, Romance Was Born, Betsey Johnson, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Derek Lam, L.A.M.B, Jason Wu and DKNY.
Nigel is also featured on many YouTube videos teaching makeup to beauty fanatics and has expanded to work very closely with other Maybelline countries like USA, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. Here he offers his expertise in trends spotting, staff training, facechart illustrations and cosmetic product development.
Nigel is a hybrid makeup artist, media-trained presenter and a published fashion illustrator. He currently works between Australia, Asia and the USA.
